Twelfth Night for Zahra Media Group

The good and the glamorous gathered in Greystones recently at an event to celebrate Zahra Media Group’s 12th Birthday.

“Since we set up Zahra Media Group in 2003, we’ve not only survived a very tough recession, but actually launched new magazines, new divisions and increased our team, so it felt like our 12th birthday was a landmark well worth celebrating”, said Gina Miltiadou, Managing Director of Zahra Media Group.

“We started 12 years ago with one consumer magazine: Easy Food, and since then have added Easy Parenting and the very successful brand extension of TV3’s Xposé show – Xposé Magazine. We also provide quality content to our corporate clients including ESB and Lidl, and our Brand Love division offers experiential marketing and event management to a range of well known brands.”

Among the glitterati were Alison Canavan, Aisling O’Loughlin and Debbie O’Donnell as well as valued clients, contributors and advertisers.

“There is a saying in Africa, that it takes a whole village to raise a child,” said Gina to a packed room on the night. “Well, you are the village that has raised Zahra Media Group, so this night is to say thank you.”

The party reflected all the divisions within Zahra Media Group, from a nail bar in the Xposé Magazine office, to a candy cart for Easy Parenting, an ice cream bar in Easy Food to a cocktail bar in the Custom Content Division.

“We provide so many diverse services that it really is a pick and mix for clients to choose from – so that was the theme of our party’” explained Gina.

During the evening, John Mullins, CEO of Zahra Media Group explained how the company has shared its success through Zahra Helps:

“From the start we wanted to ensure that we gave back in some way, so we set a mandate to donate 10% of our profits to Zahra Helps, a registered Irish charity that we set up to do work in Vietnam and South Africa. We cover all the administration costs, so 100% of the funds go directly to the projects that Zahra Helps supports.

 So what do the next 12 years hold for Zahra Media Group? According to John, “On the Consumer side of our business – building communities around our newsstand titles across multiple platforms (e.g. web, social and events) that can be leveraged for good, and on the Custom side of the business – helping blue-chips come to grips with the current content marketing wave by simplifying the content creation process and making it more accessible.”
