We’re all about creativity at Zahra. So, to celebrate World Photo Day 2017, we’ve decided to share our favourite, most creative Instagram accounts.
Alexa Meade, an American artist who specialises in living art, is one creative mind that makes it into our top three. She paints directly onto human beings and objects, creating what look like two-dimensional paintings on a living, breathing canvas. It’s truly incredible. Take a look for yourself…
Make sure to check out this behind the scenes footage of Alexa at work too. You won’t regret it!
Brandon Stanton is the creative mind behind the very clever Humans Of New York. He walks the streets of New York city, snapping pictures of the individuals who call the city home. He asks questions about life and often gets his subjects to open up about things that no one knows about them, further connecting the viewer to the image. Brandon is currently sharing stories from Russia.
“I’m ninety but I feel like I’m fifty. I don’t take any medicine. I never complain. I’m just happy to be alive. I tell people: ‘Start with what you have, not with what you want.’ Every day I dance for two hours. And I’m still really interesting too. I love politics and literature. I love the sciences. And I’ve got a boyfriend named Alexander. We exchange books. I don’t even know how old he is.” (Moscow, Russia) A post shared by Humans of New York (@humansofny) on
Murad Osmann, the Russian photographer whose Follow Me To series became an internet sensation back in 2012, certainly deserves a spot on our creative Instagram account list. He and his wife Natalia (she’s the woman who features in all of his photos, in case you didn’t know), started out with a simple idea, but their passion project has become one of the most influential travel photo series.
We may not be quite as creative on Instagram as these three, but showcase our work and give users a sneak peak into what goes on at Zahra HQ. Check out our account here.
